There were a total of 273 cases of Rabies reported in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2017, but luckily none in Greene County. However, the statistics are only on reported cases. This means that Rabies could still be present in our county, it is just going undetected/unreported.
Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms present themselves and not only are all of your pets at risk, but so are you and your human family members! This is why it is so important to make sure all of your pets are vaccinated for Rabies, farm animals included.
The Rabies vaccine is required by law and deciding to skip out on it for your pets could be the difference between life and death.
