Over-the-Counter Medications Can Be Very Bad For Your Pets!

Some good reasons why to ask your veterinarian BEFORE you give any medication to your pet:

Most of us have pets and love them like members of our own family. When we see them limp, yelp or act like they are in pain, we want to help them out. Many of us would reach for something in our medicine chest, call a friend who has worked for a vet, or search for answers on the internet. Your only real ally in this, however, is your family veterinarian, the one that has seen your dog or cat and who knows their history.

Call up and explain what signs you are seeing so that they may offer their advice. Some over-the-counter medications that are safe for humans can be VERY harmful for your pet, or may clash dangerously with medications that your pet is already taking!

Please don?t be ashamed or embarrassed to tell us if you have given your pet an over-the-counter (OTC) medication. Let us know so that we can better help your pet with whatever is making them hurt, because just like you, we want to help your companion to be happy and discomfort-free!
